TUBE MOUTH BOW STRING
by Nick Didkovsky Commissioned for Sirius String Quartet with a supporting grant from Meet the Composer
TUBE MOUTH BOW STRING, for string quartet and live electronics, reshapes the sound of the
quartet with the resonances of the mouths of the players. We use four Banshee Talkboxes
which pipe the sound of each stringed instrument up through a plastic tube and into each player's mouth, where it is vowelized and amplified.
